7 Days Tour Imperial Cities of Morocco
Day 1: Marrakech - Ouzoud
After breakfast, From your hotel or the airport in Marrakech, we go to the Cascades d'Ouzoud the most beautiful sites in Morocco located in the Middle Atlas (1060 m altitude). The village Ouzoud is known for its waterfalls of about 110 m high. We invite you to discover one of the most spectacular natural attractions in Morocco.
Upon arrival in Ouzoud, free time for a walk to the sesame following a well laid out path dotted with olive trees to the foot of the waterfalls. Lunch in a local and traditional restaurant overlooking the waterfalls.
Day 2: Ouzoud - Ifrane - Azrou - Fès
Departure for Fez in the early morning, crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains by a small and beautiful road, before joining the national road linking Marrakech to Fez. After you enjoy the greenery and freshness of Ifrane "Suisse Marocaine" you will notice a famous forest where you may see Barbary Monkeys from the Middle Atlas Mountains to Azrou. Through the dense forest, we then continue our road along the hills and mountains, you will make a relaxing stop in the Lake Daït Aoua before continuing to Fez.
Day 3: Fes
This day is dedicated to the visit of Fez, half day for the walking tour of Fez el Bali (the old city) of the historical monuments and paying museums of your choice. (we recommend this visit with a local guide).
Afterwards begins the visit of Fez el Jedid (the new city) by car through the main avenue of the Mellah (Jewish quarter) with its beautiful Andalusian balconies and goldsmiths. Then you will drive along the vast complex of the Royal Palace, (Dar el Makhzen), its main entrance, place des Alaouites, consists of 3 monumental gilded bronze doors, protected by a canopy of green tiles. Then you will walk through the district of the potters where you can see the techniques used by the craftsmen for the manufacture of pottery, ceramics and Zellij . Finally you will end this beautiful day by a tour of the ramparts to enjoy a very nice and beautiful panoramic view of the medina of Fés from the terraces of Borj North and South. Dinner and night at the hotel in Fez.
Day 4: Fes -Volubilis - Meknès
After breakfast, we start the fourth day of our tour from the imperial cities to the ancient Roman city Volubilis. Free time to visit the most beautiful Roman ruins and one of the largest Roman cities in Africa. The site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then on the way to Moulay Idriss Zerhoun, after lunch and the spiritual city of Morocco. before taking the road to Meknes the imperial city with the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismaïl, king of the Alaouite dynasty. Passing through Bab el-Khemiss overlooking gardens and visit the granaries of Moulay Ismail, one of the most fantastic monuments to visit in Meknes.
Day 5: Meknès - Rabat
Departure in the morning after breakfast to Rabat the imperial city and the current capital of Morocco, where you can discover the following sites: The Chellah - The Royal Palace (outside) - The Kasbah Oudaya - The ramparts, In the afternoon, free time to visit the Mohammed V Mausoleum - Hassan Tour.
Day 6: Rabat - Casablanca - Essaouira
After breakfast at the hotel and road to Casablanca place Mohamed V, park of the Arab League, stop in front of the great mosque Hassan II (optional visit except on religious holidays, to be paid on the spot), Continuation by the coastal road which offers beautiful views of the sea and lagoons, passing by El jadida, Oualidia, Safi with a short break in each city.
Arrival in the evening in Essaouira, night and dinner at the hotel.
Day 7: Essaouira - Marrakech
The morning is devoted to visit the old medina Essaouira, discover the walled city "Mogador", explore its gates, its ramparts of the scala, its municipal market, and its craft complex. the art of marquetry craft
After lunch and a stroll along the beach we return to Marrakech and the end of our 7-day tour imperial cities.
