Your day trip to the Ourika valley will start at 09:00 am with a walk in the plains of Haouz. Your first stop will be at the local argan oil cooperative to see how this oil is extracted and how quality cosmetic products are made. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to visit a Berber family in their home and discover their way of life to enjoy the scenery and take part in a small meal (tea and snacks). Don't forget to take with you small souvenirs (e.g. school supplies) to give to the small children of the village. They will be delighted.
From there, we will continue to Tnin Ourika, one of the largest weekly souks in the region, where all the villagers of the Ourika valley meet once a week to exchange and buy their goods. Then, we will follow the Ourika river along the Berber village of Setti- Fatma. For those who wish to explore the valley on foot, local hiking guides are available for the visit and will accompany you to discover beautiful waterfalls and vice versa.
If you prefer a quiet day, relax in one of the riverside cafes and enjoy the rest of the day listening to the sound of the stream with the High Atlas as a backdrop. Local cafes are available for a light lunch and can accommodate all budgets.
Return to Marrakech late in the afternoon where your day trip to the Ourika Valley will end with a return to your hotel or Jamaa-Elfna Square.
